Residents

All first-year paediatric residents in Canada receive complimentary membership in the Canadian Paediatric Society, and many Canadian paediatric residency programs sponsor membership for their R2-R4 residents.

• Apply for grants ranging from $500 to $10,000

Education

• Test Your Knowledge Library, an online review tool with multiple-choice questions for CPS position statements and practice points. (Complimentary access may be available through your residency program – contact your program assistant or [email protected] for details.)
• No-charge for one-hour education modules through Pedagogy, the CPS online learning platform.
• Discounted or complimentary access to group learning opportunities such as the Annual Conference, regional courses and Grand Rounds.

Resident Advocacy

Advocacy is one of the key components of medical education, as outlined in CanMEDs.

The Residents Section’s National Resident Advocacy Project gives residents hands on experience in the Health Advocate role and helps raise awareness about critical child and youth health issues.

Through the Paediatric Resident Advocacy Grant, the Healthy Generations foundation offers up to $10,000 to support paediatric residents develop, plan and implement a community-based research or advocacy project in child and youth health.
