Oral Health Community Outreach and Research Grant

This grant provides up to $500 CDN in funding for community outreach programs and research projects. A maximum of two projects will be funded.  It is supported by the Oral Health Section of the Canadian Pediatric Society (CPS). Funding is for one year.

Community Outreach grant submissions are intended to support programs and projects that promote oral health. Research grant submissions may include basic science, clinical, epidemiological or educational research pertaining to the broad area of oral health. Priority will be given to applications that seek to improve equitable access to oral health care.

Submission deadline: March 31

Nominations

Eligible candidates:

  • Be a medical or dental trainee (student/resident/fellow) enrolled in a Canadian program
  • Have a strong interest in the field of oral health

Projects must meet the following criteria:

  • Follows the ethical guidelines of the CPS as outlined in the CPS Code of Ethics
  • Justifies the need for funding
  • Funds must be used within one year of receipt, with a plan for project completion

Submissions

 

Applications must be submitted using the online application form. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Submissions must include:

  • A letter of reference from the applicant’s program director who can comment on applicant’s interest in oral health. Maximum of 2 pages.
  • A proposed project description (maximum 2 pages)
  • A detailed estimated budget (maximum 1 page)
  • Abbreviated CV for applicant(s)
  • Timeline for the major project activities

Proposals will be reviewed by a selection committee comprising a minimum of two Oral Health Section Executive Committee members and one general section member.
