Provider resources

Canadian recommendations and adapted documents

  • Become an NRP Provider
  • Order NRP materials
  • Registration and re-registration guidelines
  • Maintaining provider status: With the introduction of the 6th edition guidelines, there is no longer differentiation between a NRP Provider and NRP Renewal course. In order to maintain current status, Providers need to attend a Provider course within 24 months of the previous NRP course. Content will be tailored to meet the learners’ needs.

Note: Renewal may occur more frequently as determined by the individual’s professional association or facility.

  • Replace a provider card: Once you have been issued a CPS NRP Instructor or Provider card, you can contact CPS staff for a replacement at nrp@cps.ca. There is no charge for your original card; however there is a $10 charge for replacement cards. Please include the following information with your request:
    • The date of your most recent NRP Provider or Provider Renewal Course.
    • The name of your NRP Instructor.
    • The name of the hospital or institution where the course was held.
  • Finding courses: Your provincial or regional NRP Steering Committee Liaison is the best information source for NRP courses in your area. They can advise you on upcoming courses, or they can direct you to the local institutions that run them on a regular basis.
