Who We Are
ABOUT THE JOURNAL
Paediatrics & Child Health is the official journal of the Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS). It debuted in 1996 and has grown from six issues a year to 10. It provides a forum for discussion of topical child and youth health issues. The journal includes original articles, clinical vignettes from paediatric subspecialties (e.g. ophthalmology, dermatology, neonatology, infectious diseases and mental health), evidence-based answers to clinical questions, commentaries and editorials on social, economic and political health issues as well as position statements and other materials from CPS expert committees. Paediatrics & Child Health prides itself on translating the findings of vital research into a highly readable format, which helps clinicians deliver evidence-based paediatric practice. The high calibre of writers, reviewers and editorial board members provides the journal with the credibility needed to deliver these important messages.
EDITORIAL BOARD
Paediatrics & Child Health’s editorial board is made up of paediatricians, including generalists and subspecialists, a paediatric resident, a member of the CPS Board of Directors and a member of the Paediatric Chairs of Canada. The editorial board also reflects geographic diversity—important for bringing forward advocacy issues—and includes consulting paediatricians who practice in smaller communities far from major tertiary care centres.
PEER REVIEW
All articles appearing in Paediatrics & Child Health undergo formal peer review. Expert reviewers provide detailed comments, often seeing a manuscript more than once to ensure the accepted piece provides the best scholarly and practical information.
