Security on the CPS Website
Shopping in our Bookstore and paying your membership dues on the CPS website is safe. When you provide your credit card number it is saved on a secure server that uses Secure Socket Layers (SSL) — one of the most advanced security systems. This system encrypts the credit card information you provide before sending it to our server.
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further information.
When you enter into the secure section of our website you will see the URL change to https:// and a secret session key will appear on your browser window. Your browser and our server are now using the same secret session ID. As long as you are using the https:// protocol, any information sent between the browser and the server will be automatically encrypted and sent over a different port (443 instead of 80) than regular web pages.
