Hi Everyone,
Spring is here and many of us are making plans for the summer. As usual, summer begins with the CPS annual conference. I wanted to bring to your attention to some aspects of the conference being held in Ottawa, this June 23 to 27, 2009.
Tuesday, June 23rd
- 08:00-11:30 – Workshop “When things go wrong: Disclosure of adverse event to patients”
This is a highly interactive workshop that will be of great interest and provide practical skills for these difficult situation that we all encounter, Dr. Kathrin Reducka from the CMPA is the speaker.
- 13:30-15:00 – Concurrent seminar “Strategies for improving patient safety and liability for paediatricians”.
Presented by Dr. Kathryn Reducka, this seminar reviews common reasons why litigation occurs. These are often related to patient safety issued. Strategies are offered to avoid these difficulties.
Wednesday, June 24th:
- 18:30-19:30 – Hospital Paediatrics Section meeting
- 20:00 Section dinner at the Metropolitain Brasseries Restaurant
In the past we’ve had a great time and participation at this informal supper. It is a casual evening to visit and catch-up with friends. We will be asking for confirmations in early June so that we can confirm the reservation. The location is wonderful and we hope to see many of you there!
