Professional achievements and current responsibilities:  
Dr. Amit is a consulting paediatrician in northern Nova Scotia with multiple clinics, as well as special programs for children with diabetes, asthma and autism. She has been on the board of the Medical Society of Nova Scotia and is the founder and current chair of the Section of Rural Specialists. She is a lecturer with the Dept of Pediatrics at Dalhousie University, Halifax NS.

Educational Background: Dr. Amit trained at Dalhousie University and the IWK Children’s Hospital and Grace Maternity Hospital in Halifax .
