Professional achievements and current responsibilities:
Dr. Tallett is a professor of paediatrics at the University of Toronto and staff paediatrician, Division of Paediatric Medicine, at The Hospital for Sick Children. She participates in the care of general paediatric patients in the ambulatory setting. As residency program director and associate chair of education for the Department of Paediatrics for 15 years, Dr. Tallett helped develop ethics education, introduced CanMEDS roles and examined for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She is now chief of education and directs the Sickkids Learning Institute.
Educational Background:
Dr. Tallett graduated from the University of London, King’s College, England in 1969 and moved to Canada in 1972. She completed her residency training at The Hospital for Sick Children and worked as a full time faculty member at the University of Toronto, first in emergency medicine and later in general paediatrics. She obtained her masters in education from OISE, University of Toronto, in 2001.
