Professional achievements and current responsibilities:
Dr. Jean-Yves Frappier is head of the Adolescent Medicine Division and of the Social Paediatrics and Child Protection Division at the CHU Sainte-Justine in Montreal, and professor of paediatrics at the University of Montreal.
Dr Frappier has been involved with the Adolescent Health Committee of the CPS since 1985 and was Chairman from 2000 to 2006. He recently co-guest edited a special issue of Paediatrics & Child Health on adolescent medicine in Canada. He is the founder and president of the Canadian Association for Adolescent Health and secretary-treasurer of the International Association for Adolescent Health. Dr Frappier has organized more than 25 national and provincial scientific meetings. He frequently serves as a consultant to all levels of government and various non-governmental organizations on matters involving adolescent health
Educational Background: Dr. Frappier earned his MD from Université de Montréal in 1973. He completed paediatric residencies at Sainte-Justine Hospital and the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
